Counselor

Betsy is an experienced college counselor who has worked in the admissions office at both the college and high school level. She spent ten years as the Senior Associate Dean of Admission at a private liberal arts college. Subsequently, she spent nearly 20 years at a prestigious private high school, first as the Director of Admission and Financial Aid, then as the Director of College Counseling.


In these roles, Betsy has read thousands of college essays. She is well-versed in the best practices regarding the timing of standardized testing, the ever-evolving test-optional landscape, Early Decision, Early Action, transfer admissions, FAFSA requirements, and the financial aid process. 


Betsy now works full-time as a private college counselor advising high school students and their families by helping them submit the strongest applications possible. She has helped guide students to hundreds of colleges and universities nationwide and overseas.


Betsy also supports 8th and 9th graders as an academic advisor. She taught high school history and is well versed in course selection at all levels.


Besty earned a master’s degree from Duke University and a BA from Mount Holyoke College.
