Joe

Joe has over 30 years of experience teaching in higher education and operating an art services business. He is currently an adjunct faculty member at College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, in the Foundation department. His students are primarily first and second year, working in both 2D and 3D design classes. His approach of “finding opportunities” in solving art problems has helped his students enjoy completion of successful works of art. Joe also has extensive experience curating art exhibitions and permanent collections in the Detroit area and beyond. His art services business experience brings together his art practice sensibilities with the art patron’s practicalities.

Joe received a Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He also earned a Master of Science and Bachelor of Fine Art from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. While his expertise resides largely in drawing, painting and printmaking, he has extensive experience in 2D and 3D design. Joe is uniquely aware of what art faculty members look for in student artwork. His ability to find opportunities in existing examples of work can help an art school applicant fine tune their portfolio.
